Gary Anderson
Gary Anderson, 50, of Havre, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 2, 2008, at his home in Havre. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church in Havre with Rowlie Hutton officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the service. Cremation has taken place and burial will be scheduled for a later date. Gary was born June 25, 1957 in Great Falls, MT. He was raised and educated in Great Falls graduating from CMRussell High School in 1975. Shortly thereafter he became employed by the BNSF Railway as a brakeman, years later a conductor and at the time of his death Gary was a Locomotive Engineer. He worked a total of 33 years for the BNSF Railway.
Because of his never ending concern for his fellow co-workers he became involved in the Safety Committee. Gary was also on the BLE Union committee. August 31, 1985 Gary and Charleen Jones were married. During their marriage they had two sons, Tyson and Seth. Gary?s family was his life. He took a lot of pride in being the best father and husband he could be. It was his love for kids that lead him to participate quite actively in many local sports in Havre. Gary coached hockey and baseball and he umpired baseball. He was also well-known as the Head Referee in Havre for Hockey and also the Montana Head Referee for Hockey.
Gary enjoyed hunting in the Little Belts and the Highwoods with his family and friends. He also liked fly fishing, and tying his own flies. He always looked forward to a good game of golf. And he really enjoyed cooking, often considering himself a gourmet cook. The love he had for pets was incredible, especially his two dogs Harley & Ripper. Gary is survived by his wife of 22 years, Charleen (Charlie) of Havre; 3 sons Andy of Colorado Springs, CO, Tyson and Seth both of Havre; Parents Harvey (Dee) Anderson of Yuma, AZ and Ella Anderson of Great Falls, MT; Brother Bruce (Karin) Anderson and Sister Vicki (John) Holgerson; Mother-in-law Clarice Jones; Brothers-in-law Brian Jones, Brad (Merry) Jones, Calvin (Linda) Jones; Sisters-in-law Myrna (Babe) Morse, Lorrie (Joe) Piccard; one grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Gary?s honor may be made to the Havre Youth Baseball or Bear Paw Bowmen. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Gary?s family & friends.
We have lost a great guy… my thoughts are with family and friends of Gary’s.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
Gary was an asset to the game of hockey in Montana. I always enjoyed our battles with Havre on the ice and the cordiality of Gary off the ice. He will be missed.

Out hearts go out to the family, you have our deepest sympathy
Heartfelt prayers to the family in this time of sorrow. Gary wil be missed and the changes that he was trying to make for MT referees will be carried on by others. Havre has lost a great referee and positive advocate for the game of hockey.
His ideas and banter will be missed.
Though I never had the honor to meet Gary personally. My gratitude and appreciation goes out to him for volunteering his time to help the youth hockey program in Montana. My sincerest prayers go out to his family and friends.
